Baseball Forecast- 8/22/25

This is my last baseball forecast this summer and I appreciate all the readers and support on these! We have another dry weekend across the east which is good for our baseball games. The humidity will pick up across the south which will make the temperatures feel more normal. Let’s dive into the details!

New York Yankees

The Yankees continue their home series against the Boston Red Sox tonight at 7:05pm EDT. It will be a clear and cool night with temperatures starting around 77 degree but cooling off to around 69 degree by the end of the game. Humidity on the other hand will be increasing, starting from around 37% to getting up to almost 60% by the final innings. Surface winds will be calm while up at 150ft, they will be around 9 mph blowing towards the left field foul line. Air motion will be sinking to start the game but which to rising as the humidity starts to move into the area. This change will be beneficial to hitters and especially left handed batters as they will have a better chance of hitting a home run with the winds and air motion in the second half of the game. Overall, a nice night out for fans and players as it will be cooler than normal!

Baseball Forecast for Friday at Yankee Stadium

The Yankees continue their series against the Red Sox Saturday afternoon at 1:05pm EDT. It will be a mostly cloudy afternoon which will help keep the sun at bay but it will still be a warm one. Temperatures will be in the mid-80s with low humidity of around 30%. Surface winds will be calm and at 150ft they will be around 10 mph pointing towards left center field. Air motion will be sinking quite a bit so this may affect how helpful the winds will be. The winds will still guide the ball out but the sinking air will likely make the ball not travel as far up which could lead to less home runs. However, I don’t think the air motion will effect home runs too much and the Yankees are on a hot home run streak right now and I don’t think the weather will be preventing that from continuing.

Baseball Forecast for Saturday at Yankee Stadium

The Yankees close out their home series against the Red Sox at 7:10pm EDT on Sunday night. Temperatures will be around 81 degrees on this mostly cloudy evening. Humidity will be at 47% while surface winds remain calm. At 150ft, winds will be blowing towards left field at around 15 mph. This will give right handed batters a 65% chance of hitting a foul fly ball. It will be a pretty constant weather evening which will be good for those attending as you can plan ahead easier!

Biloxi Shuckers

The Shuckers continue their home series against the Chattanooga Lookouts at 6:35pm CDT tonight. It will be a partly cloudy night with temperatures in the mid-80s and humidity around 75-80%. Winds at the surface will be calm while at 150ft they will be around 10-15 mph. These winds will be pointing towards left field which means we could see an extra almost 57 feet of distance on a fly ball. The humidity will make the pitchers lose grip faster and the humidity will also make it feel quite sticky out. The post-game firework show will be all good o go and it won’t be super hot for it!

Baseball Forecast for Friday at Keesler Federal Park

The Shuckers continue their home series against the Lookouts at 6:05pm CDT on Saturday. It will be a mostly cloudy evening with temperatures in the low-80s and humidity around 75-85%. Winds will be below 5 mph at all levels and air motion will be barely rising. This means our main weather impact will be the humidity which will make players feel more sweaty and sluggish. It will also make it feel warmer out for spectators but overall, a pretty nice evening!

Sunday’s game at 5:05pm CDT concludes the Shuckers home series against the Lookouts. Temperatures will be in the mid-80s with mostly clear skies and humidity around 70-75%. Surface winds will be calm and at 150ft they will be around 14 mph pointing towards the left field foul line. This will make right handed batters have a greater chance of hitting an above average number of foul balls than average home runs. For spectators it will be a bit warm, especially in the sun but it will be around average for this time of the summer!

Birmingham Barons

The Baron continue their home series against our Rocket City Trash Pandas at 7pm CDT tonight. It will be a cloudy night with temperatures in the low-80s and humidity around 65-80%. Winds at the surface will be calm while at 150ft they will be around 8 mph and blowing towards right field in the first few innings. We will see the winds shift towards the infield in the middle of the game and they will calm for a bit before getting up to around 11 mph. This wind shift will greatly affect batters as winds will go from helping them to hurting them. We will likely see more home runs in the first few innings if we see any during this game. It will be a fairly steamy game with the humidity which will affect both players and spectators as the air will feel quite warm and heavy.

Baseball Forecast for Friday at Regions Field

On Saturday night at 6:30pm CDT, the Barons play at home against the Trash Pandas. It will be a pretty clear evening with temperatures in the low-80s. Humidity will be around 80% with winds at around 5 mph at the surface. Winds will be blowing towards right field around 10 mph at 150ft. This will help out batters and there is an 30% chance of more than 1 home run occurring during this game. It will be another warm and steamy summer night in the southeast!

*Unfortunately no graphic for this game*

The Barons finish their home series against the Trash Pandas at 4pm CDT on Sunday. It will be a mostly clear day with temperatures in the low-80s and humidity around 70%. Winds will be minimal at all levels and air motion will be relatively neutral. This means a lot of the game play will be up to the players strengths and how the last few games of the heat and humidity have affected their body and performance. The key for players will be how well they have hydrated the last few days to keep them from being overly dehydrated. For spectators it will be an average summer game and will feel pretty decent out!
