MY FORECAST IS CURRENTLY YAWNING

There comes a time in every southern summer when we finally ridge over and the weather is at the mercy of the sea breeze for any sort of relief from the unbearable, sticky heat that we receive each day. Well, the time is finally here. We are in a linear trend after the crazy strong weather that came upon us in the past 2 days. Just in time for the first day of summer, it’s now time to feel it’s wrath.

While we may receive a slight chance of rain from another low pressure that’s moving northeast of us, I doubt it will pull far enough south that we will be blessed with anymore rain. The ridge in the Gulf of Mexico is forming, and unfortunately due to the winds coming from the Gulf, we will experience higher humidity which means that we’re going to be even more miserable.

Let’s look ahead. Image courtesy of RCR on YouTube.

Wednesday: low cumulus clouds during the day with a slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm.

High: 91

Low: 72

Winds SW 5 mph

Thursday: partly cloudy with a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm, most likely the low pressure won’t move south enough.

Have a good week! It’s going to be hot and humid, so I would advise wearing plenty of sunscreen and mosquito spray if you’re going to be outside. Also check on your neighbors and make sure they’re bearing the heat and if they don’t have air conditioning, invite them over so they can cool off because this heat is going to stay for a while.
