Our services include customized weather forecasts catering to specific client needs, ranging from short-term, high-impact events to comprehensive seasonal outlooks. We also feature special reports on historical weather events, unique tornado footage, and targeted forecasts during severe weather threats.

Description

As a Freelance Operational Meteorologist with NickelBlock Forecasting, you’ll provide essential weather forecasts to our clients. This role requires availability during both regular business hours and off-hours for high-impact weather events, ensuring our clients receive timely and accurate information.

Responsibilities / Duties

You will analyze the latest meteorological data available via our suite of vendors to craft precise forecasts, issued every four to six hours. Your expertise will guide our clients through weather uncertainties with confidence and clarity.

Knowledge / Skills

– Profound understanding of various weather models and their biases.
– Skillful in producing accurate forecasts using data from the National Weather Service and other sources.
– Availability during high-impact weather events.
– Ability to deliver urgent information with poise and clarity.
– Proficiency in presenting forecasts using NickelBlock’s layout and graphics.

Education / Experience

– Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, or a related field.
– At least one year of forecasting experience is preferred.

Hours / Compensation

– 10 to 20 hours per week
– Up to $400 per week
