Storms again today and through the weekend, hot next week: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 5/13/22

The Storm Prediction Center is holding on to the threat for severe weather again today. And again, the main concerns will be brief heavy rain, lightning, wind gusts up to 60mph, and small hail. The tornado threat is very, very, very low. Not totally zero, but pretty ignorable.

A lot like yesterday, storms will be moving from north to south. And a lot like yesterday they will be widely scattered, not a “line” of storms along any cold front.

It looks like the chance for storms will continue through the weekend. Severe weather can’t be ruled out, but isn’t as likely for Saturday and Sunday. Then we start to bake next week with highs in the 90s.
