Can the Models Make Up Their Minds?

Good afternoon everyone! It’s Kendall with the forecast for tonight (July 20th) and tomorrow (July 21st). Noah and Emily will extend the forecast for the next week.

Tonight, conditions will be mostly clear, with gentle winds out of the west. Twenty counties in Mississippi are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 7 p.m. on July 20th including Forrest and Lamar, so keep your eyes peeled for a possible storm this early evening.

Tomorrow, we will start the day with a low of 76° with winds out of the west around 5 mph. Skies will be partly cloudy. By 10 a.m., we will heat up to 85°, with partly cloudy skies and winds out of the west-southwest at 5-10 mph. At 1 p.m., the temperature will reach 92°, with partly cloudy skies and winds out of the west between 5 and 10 mph. By 4 p.m., we will have reached our high of 95°, with winds out of the west around 5 mph and partly cloudy skies. For the evening, we will cool off to 83°, with partly cloudy skies and winds out of the southwest at 3 mph.

Tomorrow’s chance of rain is only 30%, but if we do get storms, they have the potential to be severe. We have been under a heat advisory, so it is wise to stay hydrated and avoid spending too much time outside. Thank you so much for reading my forecast, and continue reading for information about the rest of the week.

Good afternoon y’all!  I am your weather intern Noah. We had some interesting severe storms come our way yesterday bringing in a lot of rain, thunder and lightning.

What we’re expecting this weekend and into the beginning of the week is nothing short of hot. We’re going to have a pause in the cloudiness and humidity for a few hot days with a few clouds in the sky. All I can say is be careful outside this weekend and stay hydrated if you’re doing any sort of activity.

Sunday will see a clouds, but otherwise sunny with a high of 93 and a low of 76. We’ll see some slight northwesterly winds, but ultimately won’t help with the heat.

Monday will see a mostly sunny sky with a 30% chance of rain in the afternoon, but the heat will still take its toll as the day goes on. High of 93 and a low of 75. Winds coming from the North around 5-10 mph.

On Tuesday, we’ll see a partly cloudy sky with a 40% chance of scattered showers in the area throughout the day. High of 92 and a low of 75.

Hope y’all have a great week and be safe!

Alright, let’s wrap this up by starting with Wednesday through Friday:

Wednesday July 25th –

Expect a high of 90 and a low of 72, 40% chance of showers through the afternoon. There will be very little (if any) winds at the surface and we can look to see mostly cloudy skies with periods of sunny skies.

Thursday July 26th –

Expect a high of 90 and a low of 72, the rain chance lowers to about 30% chance through the day. Again, we’ll have very light winds at the surface with a little bit in the upper levels to bring in slight heat out of the west from the warmer temperatures in Texas. Lucky for us, we’ll stay in the low 90’s and hold mostly cloudy skies.

Friday July 27th –

Expect a high of 92 with a low of 74, rain holding strong at 40% with winds out of the S/SE @ 5-10 mph. Skies will be mostly cloudy with fair skies in the morning before entering the afternoon.

Thanks for following along with us and we’ll see ya next week!
