Looking to the weekend, the cold air that affected most of the US last week into this week will be replaced by warmer air. The southern half of the country will see temperatures into the 60s and 70s for highs, while the northern half will still be chilly but not as cold as before.

The weather will be relatively quiet over the weekend. Occasional rain showers will be possible in the northern states (particularly the Northwest and northern Plains), but most states will see dry and sunny weather. It should be a pleasant weekend for many.
