More moisture, lower temperatures for the next few days, Fourth weekend looks good: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 6/29/22

The one nice thing about have a crew of fantastic interns is that on morning where I am swamped at my “regular job” you guys can all still get access to a quality forecast!

Real quick, though, here is a rough breakdown of the forecast in the coming days…

Invest 95L off the Texas coast will continue to shove more moisture across the region today and tomorrow. That extra moisture will help the showers and storms that to develop to be pretty efficient rain producers. So if you get caught under a storm today, it is likely going to rain pretty good.

There isn’t a great chance that Invest 95L becomes ‘a thing’ but knowing what I know about the NHC, I wouldn’t be surprised if they tag it as a Potential Tropical Cyclone or even a Tropical Depression before it makes “landfall” tomorrow along the Texas coast between Houston and Corpus Christi.

Either way, it means some extra rain today, tomorrow, and Friday for the region.

Then high pressure takes back over for the Fourth of July weekend.

This means drier conditions for the weekend with just a handful of afternoon summertime storms possible. In fact, it should be a great weekend (albeit warm) for get together and barbeques. Just be careful with the fireworks, everyone. I know many of you will be consuming some, lets call it, ‘Adult Confidence Juice’ this weekend. And don’t let it give you the impression that you can let your guard down with explosives!

As we move through next week, the next tropical wave that is out there may continue to drift toward the Gulf.

So far, it looks like there won’t be much to this one. But it worth keeping tabs on in the coming days for sure.
