South Mississippi Forecast 7/27/21

Parts of the area enjoyed (I’ll use that term loosely) some pretty electric storms last night. It looks like the sea breeze met up with an outflow boundary south of Highway 98. And whne those two mini-fronts ran into eachother…

…. instant stormage!

Those types of events are the thorn in my side. I really wish I could give everyone more of a heads up, but those types of storms aren’t really forecastable until they start happening.

It is almost as if the “doom shows up just as fast as the warning of the doom” to borrow a line from Theoretical Physicist, Sean Carroll.

For today, showers and storms won’t be quite as abundant due to the atmosphere getting pretty well turned-over in a lot of places yesterday. While showers and storms are still possible, and they may be jsut as robust as last night, the chance you run into one of those storms is lower.

Daily Timeline

It looks like storms today may take until lunchtime to get moving again.

Since storms waited until around supper last night to start going (that is a missed forecast on my part) it may take a bit longer for them to get going again today.
