9/24/19 PM Tropical Update – Jerry, Karen, and Lorenzo

There are still a lot of uncertainties with with what is happening in the Tropics right now. A lot of the uncertainty surrounds the movement of Karen and how that may impact the weather in the Gulf or along the East coast.

And sadly, at this point, we (meteorologists) just don’t know what will happen.

There is a chance it gets eaten up by Puerto Rico.

There is a chance it gets eaten up by shear north of Puerto Rico.

There is a chance that cooler water kills it.

There is a chance that it survives all of that… and still gets eaten by a front

There is a chance that it survives all of that, turns back toward the United States, misses the front, but gets eaten up by shear.

And that is just the short-list of things that could kill Karen.

As for Jerry and Lorenzo, buth of those shoudl stay well east of the United States. Jerry will continue to cause problems for Bermuda for the next 36 hours. And Lorenzo should make a run at being a Major Hurricane out in the middle of the Atlantic.
