Baseball Forecast- 6/6/25

Hot, humid, and wet are some of themes for our baseball games this weekend. We are looking at scattered showers down and humid conditions across all of our forecasted teams. Let’s jump into it!

New York Yankees

Tonight, the Yankees start a three-game series against the Red Sox at 7:05pm EDT at home. Temperatures will be in the mid-70s with humidity starting around 67% in the first innings and increasing to around 77% by the end of the game. This will make it feel quite warm and sticky, especially if facing the sun. It will be partly cloudy throughout the game with no major chance for rain showers. Winds will be light at all levels which means a pretty even playing field for both the batters and the players in the field. With the higher temperatures and humidity, it will be crucial for players to stay hydrated, especially while the sun is out in the first few innings.

Continuing their series against the Red Sox, the Yankees play at home Saturday at 7:35pm EDT. Like Friday, it will be mild and sticky with temperatures in the low-70s with humidity starting at 66% and increasing to 78%. It will be partly cloudy out with no major chance for rain. Winds will be calm at all levels which means again we will have pretty fair conditions across the field. It will be a bit cooler than Friday but humidity will still be high so hydration for players will still be very important. For spectators it should feel pretty nice out!

Baseball Forecast for Saturday at Yankee Stadium

To close out their series against the Red Sox, the Yankees play at home Sunday at 7:10pm EDT. Temperatures will be in the low-80s with humidity around 35%. It will be partly cloudy with no major chances for rain. Winds at the surface will be calm and at 150ft they will be around 7 mph. This will have little effect on the ball motion and with the low humidity we will see the ball sinking more in the air. This can be beneficial to pitchers, especially when throwing sliders because the ball will start high and slightly sink more below the strike zone and throw off batters. A fairly warm evening but not too sticky!

Biloxi Shuckers

The Biloxi Shuckers continue their home series this week against the Montgomery Biscuits with a game tonight at 6:35pm CDT. Temperatures will be in the mid-80s with humidity around 75%. This means it will be quite hot and sticky. We are looking at some passing showers but none that should affect the game. Winds at the surface will be around 3 mph and at 150ft they will be strong around 20 mph. These winds will be pointed towards the left field foul line which may mean we will see more foul balls in that direction. It will be quite hot and sticky, especially before sunset which means it will be crucial for players to stay cool and hydrate. For spectators just try to stay cool and hydrated as well and try to get some seats not facing the sun setting, so along the first base line would be best.

Saturday’s home game against the Biscuits starts at 6:05pm CDT. Temperatures will be in the mid-80s with humidity around 75%. It will be clear skies which means it will feel much hotter than it is. This may cause players to sweat more and need to hydrate more than normal for this game. Same for spectators as good hydration and avoiding the sun will make for a more enjoyable game time experience. Winds at the surface will be calm but at 150ft they will be around 20 mph. This will greatly effect fly balls however these winds will be facing the left foul line which means some of those fly balls may end up as foul balls due to the strong winds.

The series against the Montgomery Biscuits finishes at 5:05pm CDT on Sunday. Temperatures will be in the low-80s with humidity starting around 78% and increasing to around 87%. This increase in humidity is due to scattered thunderstorms coming into the area and possibly during our game time. The final innings may see a scattered shower which would affect the game. If there is lightning the game will definitely be delayed so they may decide to move this game up to avoid this issue. However moving the game up would lead to hotter temperatures which would make it harder for the players in the sun. Winds will be calm at the surface and at 150ft, around 15 mph. These winds will be coming from the northwest and pushing into the outfield. Overall keep on the lookout for those scattered thunderstorms on Sunday and last minute game decisions!

Birmingham Barons

The Barons continue their home series against our own Rocket City Trash Pandas tonight at 7pm CDT. Temperatures will start in the low-80s but decrease to the low-70s by the end of the game. Humidity will start around 67% but increase to around 90% during the game because of some a passing thunderstorm. It will be cloudy throughout the game and in the middle innings we are looking at a scattered thunderstorm in the area. This may cause a change in the game or a delay so be aware of that if you plan on attending this game. Winds will be calm at the surface and at 150ft they will be around 19 mph in the negging and decrease to 5 mph after the scattered showers pass. These winds will start pointing to towards left center feudal and shift to pointing out towards the third base line. Overall be mindful of the scattered showers and check the weather closer to game time for the most accurate information!

Baseball Forecast for Friday at Regions Field

The Barons continue playing the Trash Pandas at 6:30pm CDT on Saturday. Temperatures will be in the mid-70s with humidity in the 90% range. It will be partly cloudy with some scattered showers before the game and during the first few innings. This may cause a rain delay depending on how much rain ends up falling in these small showers. Winds will be calm at all levels which means the humidity will be the major factor of ball motion. Since we will have very high humidity the ball will be able to rise more so for fly balls that will be helpful for batters looking to get the extra feet over the wall. Like Friday just be on the lookout for those scattered rain showers in the area as you get closer to game time!

Sunday’s game against the Trash Pandas starts at 4pm CDT. Temperatures will be around 78 degrees with humidity around 76%. It will be mostly cloudy out with a chance for scattered showers in the area. Winds at the surface will be calm and at 150ft they will be around 7 mph. These winds will be facing out towards right field which is more beneficial to the batters. Be on the watch for some more of those scattered showers in the area and watch out for any potential delays though I don’t see a high probability for that.
