Happy July, and it sure does feel like it! Heat around the east with a chance for some thunderstorms to delay some games. For reference, the northeast and southeast radars are down below and they will be referred to for games. Let’s jump into it!

New York Yankees

This afternoon, the Yankees start a an away series against the Toronto Blue Jays at 3:07pm EDT. Temperatures will be in the mid-80s with partly cloudy skies. Humidity will start around 59% but decrease to around 35% by the end of the game. Winds will be calm at the surface with winds at 150ft around 15-20 mph. These winds will be pointing towards right field and since the winds will be strong, fly balls will be affected and will go in that direction.It will be a pretty hot game so be prepared by drinking water and wearing sunscreen if you plan on attending this game.

Wednesday night’s game against the Blue Jays takes place at 7:07pm EDT. Temperatures will be in the mid-70s with humidity around 60%. Cloud coverage will be minimal with showers in the region but none in our exact area. Winds will be around 14 mph at 150ft with calm surface winds. These winds will be pointing towards right field which will be helpful to batters getting those fly balls an extra inch. Overall, a very nice night for players and spectators alike!

The Yankees finish their away series against the Blue Jays at 7:07pm EDT. Temperatures will be in the mid to low-70s with humidity around 50%. It will be a clear evening with calm surface winds. At 150ft, winds will be around 16 mph pointing towards the infield. These winds will likely be more beneficial to the fielders as fly balls won’t travel as far out. With naturally rising air, pitchers may see their pitches rise more than they expect. Another nice evening for some baseball!

Birmingham Barons

The Barons start a home series at 7pm CDT tonight against the Chattanooga Lookouts. This game might end up being a bit of a wash out with rain predicted for most of the game. This rainfall will be heavy with some periods of thunderstorms in the area. Humidity will be high which will help fuel thunderstorms. Temperatures will be in the low-70s with calm winds at the surface. These winds will be coming from the south southwest and move the rain into the region. With a high chance of lightning, it seems rather unlikely that this game will be able to play all the way through, if it even starts.

Baseball Forecast for Tuesday at Regions Field


The Barons continue their series against the Lookouts on Wednesday at 7pm CDT. It will be a warm and clear evening with temperatures in the mid to low-80s. Humidity will be around 65% with calm surface winds. Winds at 150ft will be around 9 mph pointing towards left field. Air will be rising which will be helpful for keeping fly balls up in the air longer. It will be hot and fairly humid so it will be important for people attending and playing to drink plenty of water before this game!

Baseball Forecast for Wednesday at Regions Field


The Barons complete the home game section of their series against the Lookouts at 6pm CDT. Temperatures will be in the mid-70s with humidity around 70%. It will be a mostly clear night with calm winds at all levels. It will be a very nice and cool night which will be a pleasant change compared to the last two nights. After this game the Barons will continue to play the Lookouts, but in Chattanooga.

Hudson Valley Renegades

The Renegades start a home series against our own Brooklyn Cyclones to start the week. The first game of this series takes place tonight at 6:35pm EDT. It will be a hot one with temperatures in the mid-80s for the game and humidity at 59%. It will be cloudy with rain showers having just passed before the start of the game. Winds at the surface will be around 3 mph while up at 150ft they will be around 10-15 mph. These winds will be pointing towards the infield which will go against hitters trying to get those extra inches on fly balls. Be mindful of the rain before the start of the game if you plan on attending this game!

Baseball Forecast for Tuesday at Heritage Financial Field


The Renegades continue their home series against the Cyclones at 6:35pm EDT. It will be a Clea night with temperatures starting around 83 degrees and cooling to around 78 degrees by the final innings. Humidity will be increasing throughout the game from 50% to around 66%. Winds will be calm at the surface and around 8 mph at 150ft. They will be pointing towards the infield. Air motion will be naturally sinking which combined with winds pointing infield, it won’t be in favor of the hitters this evening.

Thursday night closes out the home field advantage for the Renegades as they will face the Cyclones in Brooklyn this weekend. Thursday’s game will take place at 7:05pm EDT. It will be partly cloudy out but there shouldn’t be any rain. Temperatures will be in the low-70s with humidity around 82%. The winds will be fairly calm at all levels which means ball motion will be entirely reliant n the hitters. It should be quite clear after the game which will be perfect for the fireworks show at the end of the game. It will be a fairly cool but moist evening which will be great for fireworks!

Rocket City Trash Pandas

The Trash Pandas start a three game home series against the Knoxville Smokies at 6:35pm CDT tonight. We are looking at some scattered thunderstorms in the area during the middle innings of the game. Lightning, alongside heavy rainfall may delay or postpone our game. Temperatures will be in the low-80s to start the game but cool to the mid-70s by the later innings. Humidity will be quite high, ranging rom 73-92%. It will be cloudy out, especially as rain showers move into the area. winds will be calm but since the rain is the main event, they won’t affect game play. Be mindful of rain and watch the local weather for updates as we head closer to game time!


Baseball Forecast for Tuesday at Toyota Field


Wednesday’s game against the Smokies takes place at 6:35pm CDT. Temperatures will be in the mid to low-80s with humidity in the 60% range. It will be a learning evening which means we will be seeing the sun in some areas of the field until sunset at 8:03pm CDT. Winds will be calm at the surface and around 7 mph at 150ft which will be pointing towards right field. Overall, it will be a pretty warm game but most of the ball motion will be dependent on the players and weather will play a minimal role in the ball motion.

Closing out the home game section of their series against the Smokies, the Trash Pandas play Thursday night at 6:05pm CDT. Temperatures will be in the low-80s with humidity around 54%. It will be a clear night which is perfect for the post-game fireworks show. Surface winds will be light while at 150ft they will be around 9 mph. These winds will be pointing towards right field. Air motion will be naturally rising, which combined with the wind will help move fly balls out towards right field a bit more. Overall, a clear night to close out the Trash Pandas home games for the week!
