Baseball Forecast- 7/4/25

Happy 4th of July everybody! As we kick off the holiday weekend, we have plenty of games to talk about as we try to enjoy our fireworks tonight. July is the perfect month for baseball and the weather is hot and humid as one would expect across the east. Our minor league teams at home switch up for the weekend as this week our teams played half the week at home and the other half away. The Yanks play in New York City, but in the wrong borough. Lot’s of switch ups this weekend, but plenty to look forward to, let’s dive into it!

New York Yankees

The Yankees take the subway down to Queens this weekend as we start the Subway Series against the Mets at Citi Field this time. This afternoon’s game will kick off at 3:10pm EDT. Temperatures will be around 87 degrees with humidity around 30%. It will be a clear afternoon which means the sun will be beating down on everyone at the game. With temperatures array in the upper-80s, it will be crucial to anyone at the game to hydrate, stay in shaded areas, take breaks, and wear sunscreen. Winds won’t be any help for cooling down with calm surface winds and winds only around 11 mph up at 150ft. These winds will be pointing towards the right field foul line but they won’t impact ball motion much. It will remain a clear night even after the game but it will still also remain quite hot so if you’re attending the fireworks show in the city after the game just be sure to hydrate and stay cool!

Saturday afternoon’s game will take place at 4:10pm EDT against the Mets. Temperatures will be around 83 degrees with mostly clear skies. Humidity will start around 40% but increase to around 50% by the final innings. It will feel quite hot again especially since most of the game will be in the sun. Winds will be calm at the surface and only 10mph at 150ft which will point towards the outfield. Overall, another hot game so be sure to hydrate and stay cool!

The Yankees finish their away series against the Mets Sunday afternoon at 1:40pm EDT. Another hot afternoon as we hit our peak temperatures of the day during the game. It will be in the upper-80s with clear skies which means that sun will be directly above everyone. This makes it quite the hot game, even with the fairly low humidity at around 40%. Surface winds will be calm while up at 150ft they will be around 10-15mph pointing towards center field. These slight winds may just help keep those fly balls up for an extra second. A hot one for New York so be sure to stay cool and have fun!

Biloxi Shuckers

The Shuckers start a home series at 6:35pm CDT tonight against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. Temperatures will be around 85 degrees with humidity at around 74%. For the first few innings of the game we might see a lingering rain shower, however that will likely not last long and shouldn’t delay the game unless there is lightning too close which isn’t likely as of now. After the middle innings, those clouds will give way to clear skies to finish out the game and remain for the post game fireworks show. Winds will be calm at the surface and not too strong at 150ft, only around 8mph. These winds will be pointing towards the left field foul line and since they aren’t strong, they shouldn’t affect the fireworks show. A pretty hot and steamy evening, but that is fairly normal for July in the south and the fourth is no different here!

The Shuckers continue their home series against the Blue Wahoos on Wednesday at 6:05pm CDT. Temperatures will be in the mid-80s with humidity around 70%. It will be a mostly clear evening with cloud coverage decreasing throughout the game. Winds will be quite calm at all levels and the natural air motion will be quite neutral. The main factor that might affect gameplay here is player abilities, but if you really want to blame it on the weather, blame it on the hot and humid conditions. These conditions will make players sweat more which means they will lose a lot of water and salt which they will need to continuously replenish throughout the game. Overall, a bit hot for even spectators but nothing some shade and water can’t help!

Baseball Forecast for Saturday at Keesler Federal Park

Sunday’s game at 5:05pm CDT closes out the Shuckers home series against the Blue Wahoos. Like Saturday, temperatures will be in the mid-80s with humidity around 70%. Calm winds across the board with almost perfectly clear skies. Air motion will be naturally rising and with some small gusts at 150ft towards the outfield, we might see a little weather help with getting fly balls up a bit more. There will be showers to the south and west of our region that will keep the area moist and sticky feeling. Another hot and sticky game but nothing out of the ordinary here!

Brooklyn Cyclones

The Cyclones take the home field advantage for the second half of the series against the Renegades. The weekend starts tonight with a game at 6:40pm EDT. Temperatures will be in the low-80s with clear skies which means until sunset, many people will be in the sun, especially the outfielders who will get the sunset glare. Humidity will start around 45% but decrease to around 32% by the end of the game. Winds at the surface will be around 5mph while up at 150ft, they will be around 10mph. These winds will be pointing towards the outfield. A fairly hot evening but at least with the lower humidity and sunsetting, it won’t feel too bad. As for the fireworks show, expect clear skies and warm temperatures which will be a great way to celebrate the fourth!

Baseball Forecast for Friday at Maimonides Park

The Cyclones continue their home series against the Renegades Saturday at 6pm EDT. Another clear evening with temperatures in mid to upper-70s. Humidity will be in the 60% range with winds at the surface around 8mph. At 150ft, winds will be around 15mph pointing towards the infield. Winds will go again our fly ball motion and with the air rising, the two will almost cancel each other out this afternoon. Overall, a bit sticky out with the increase in humidity, but the slightly cooler temps and stronger winds may help it feel nice out!

Baseball Forecast for Saturday at Maimonides Park

Sunday afternoon’s game at 2pm EDT close out the series against the Renegades. A sunny and hot afternoon with temperatures at 83 degrees with no clouds in the sky. Humidity will be around 50-60% with surfaces winds of around 8mph. Winds at 150ft will be around 15mph pointing towards the infield. This combined with then naturally sinking air, will make it harder for batters to get those extra feet on their fly balls this afternoon. With the sun out it will also feel hotter than the actual temperature which will make players feel quite hot. Be sure to stay hydrated and be prepared for the sun if you plan on attending this game!
