Baseball Forecast- 7/14/25

A quick forecast as the major league starts the week on All-Star break and the minor leagues also don’t have games until Friday. However we do have two baseball related events to start the week with the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game. Both are down in Atlanta which means some southern heat to think about for patrons traveling from other areas of the country. Clear evenings for both days so our main player will be the wind, let’s dive into it!

Home Run Derby

Tonight is the home run derby which takes place in Atlanta, Georgia in Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves. The home run derby will take place at 8:00pm EDT and features 8 of the league’s best batters fighting for the title of the home run derby champion. It will be a mostly clear evening with temperatures starting in the upper-80s and cooling to the low-80s by 11pm EDT. Humidity will start around 50% but increase to around 70% by the 11 o’clock hour. Surface winds will be around 5 mph which will be going towards the outfield. At 150ft, they will also be going towards the outfield at around 15 mph. This will be quite helpful to the batters who need all the extra help they can get to get the ball over the wall. We all know I’ll be rooting for Jazz since he’s the Yankee representation! *Note for wind speeds 1 knot = ~1.15 mph*

All-Star Game

Tuesday night the All-Star game will take place in Truist Park at 8:00pm EDT. This game will be played against the best players from both the National League and American League. Temperatures will be in the low-80s for this game with humidity around 70%. It will be a clear evening with surface winds around 6 mph. Winds at 150ft will be around 15 mph pointing towards left field. This will be good for the hitters on the field. The higher humidity will also likely help ball motion to be rising which will also be good for some extra home runs outside of the derby. It will be quite a hot and humid one, especially for people not used to the southeast summers. Overall, a decent night for some All-Star baseball and of course I’ll be rooting for my American League Yankees players!
