A Surprisingly Average August Summer Weekend – Weekend Forecast for South MS/LA/AL 8/6/25

Yep, compared to the past couple of years, the beginning of August has been pretty nice this time around! Highs have been in the low 90s with heat indices reaching the mid to upper 90s. This weekend will be a little bit warmer as the stationary front makes its way out to the Atlantic and a northeastern high will replace it bringing more humidity back into the South.

Tomorrow will be similar to today’s setup with a small cluster storms possible from the stationary front and some northerly influence. These storms are expected to start in the mid afternoon and last until after sunset. Highs in the 90s and lows in the mid 70s. Friday, however, we can expect some slimmer chances of rain as the high pressure zone moves in and dewpoints take a dive into the mid 60s and winds shift toward the east. This is some fairly good news, though as it’ll feel a bit drier. A few storms from the sea breeze are possible.

Saturday looks to be another drier one with a few sea breeze storms moving up, however the dewpoints are still a bit lower than usual. Expect highs in the low 90s and lows in the mid 70s. Sunday, however, will have a slightly higher chance for rain as the front I mentioned earlier will hang around a bit. Not only that, the developing high from the northeast will have a more east/southeasterly component which means that moisture flow is more present. It’s not huge, but it’s present over much of southeastern Mississippi and Alabama which is a decent indicator that rain is possible.

Thursday looks to be a similar day to today with late afternoon thunderstorms. Afterwards, we should see some lower chances and drier conditions before they come back by Sunday. Have a good weekend!
