An Iffy End to the Week – Weekend Forecast for South MS/LA/AL 11/5/25

With hardly any wind and lows a little warm, we can expect some patchy fog overnight. This will last until mid-morning, so be careful if you’re getting started early or on your daily commute. Temperatures will fall to the 50 mark overnight. Tomorrow will be a warmer day with temperatures in the upper 70s to around 80 with winds out of the east southeast.

Friday is still a bit of a mixed bag. The SPC has placed us under a Marginal Risk (1/5) for severe weather. Some parameters such as rising dewpoints and instability are something to be concerned about. Looking at Skew-T’s for parts of the Pine Belt, it’s tough to say whether this will really get off the ground. Cells are there and some have potential for severe weather, so we can’t rule out a severe thunderstorm with some possible hail and maybe even a tornado if winds can hook enough with the right amount of shear.

Expect scattered thunderstorms all throughout the day on Friday until after sunset. For those in Alabama, more storms will carry on through the night hours. Highs will reach the upper 70s and lows in the low 60s with winds coming from the south.

Fronts on Sunday from the Weather Prediction Center

We’ll be in between two large fronts on Saturday, however it will be a bit warmer as the southerly winds still prevail, so expect it to be a little more humid outside during the day. Highs will be in the low 80s with sunny skies. Overnight, expect a quick line of showers to move in past midnight before we drop back into the 50s for the low. Sunday will be a big change as temperatures only reach the upper 60s and winds gust out of the north northwest. This will be our big cold front and temperatures will drop into the upper 30s overnight, so stay warm!
