We’re beginning to even out fairly early in February which means that it’s going to stay fairly mild for the next week or so. Overall temperatures will be in the 60s-70s during the day and the upper 30s-mid 40s at night. Overall, it’s going to be a fairly calm period for us with intermittent rain during the mid and latter parts of the week.

This Weekend

It’s going to be a very nice day out today! For those out this evening, it’ll cool down a bit into the 50s, so be sure to bring a jacket with you. Otherwise, barely a cloud in the sky and a high in the upper 60s. Overnight, we’ll fall into the upper 30s.

A dry cold front is going to move through the southeast during the early morning hours, so expect winds to shift from the west to the north. This will be the reason the temperature drops to the upper 30s tomorrow morning. Otherwise, we’ll have another clear day with temperatures in the upper 50s on Saturday. Lows will fall to the upper 30s again. By Sunday, we’ll begin to climb back into the 60s, so a great day going to church or outside for a while.
Next Week
It’s going to warm up quite a bit into the 60s and 70s next week, so it’ll be a nice week to just be outside (I already know I will). Clouds will increase a bit by Tuesday as we have another incoming front. This one is fairly weak sauce since it begins to weaken as it moves from the Pacific across the southwest to our neck of the woods. Not only that, a high pressure system is building in the Atlantic which will weaken the system further. Despite that, we can expect some scattered showers across much of Mississippi and Louisiana Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Afterwards, don’t expect much change in the temperatures, if anything it’s going to get a bit warmer until the weekend. By Friday, another cold front is moving in bringing another chance for scattered rain across the area. Cooler weather is expected the weekend after, but not a significant drop.
One Month Outlook

At the request of a friend of mine, he was wondering what the weather would be like a month from now. I’m not the greatest climatologist, but it’s looking like a small shot for some cooler than average temperatures, however that looks to be concentrated towards the mid-Atlantic coastline. So really, it looks like we’ll be on the cooler-average side for late February-early March. Precipitation looks to be mostly average with slightly below average chances for the eastern part of the Deep South.
