It was a much cooler end to the weekend than a lot of us expected! Temperatures fell into the 50s with cloud cover making it feel almost like winter. We had another cool start this morning with more clouds in the sky to keep temperatures down a bit. For the rest of the week, we’ll warm up and increase the humidity a bit as another front makes its way towards the Gulf South.

Today

We’ll have a mix of clouds and sun today with upper level clouds lingering with the exiting front. Winds will pull out of the northeast and eventually the east around 5-10mph, so keep a light jacket on you this morning! It’s going to cool down significantly this evening as well with a low in the upper 40s to low 50s with partly cloudy skies.

Tomorrow

Temperatures will climb to the low 80s for some of us, albeit with some drier conditions. More upper level clouds will hang around in lieu of the leftover front in TX/LA. Overall, a warm but pleasant spring day ahead with winds shifting to the south in the evening. Overnight, we’ll reach the low to mid 50s.
Wednesday

Expect another warm but pleasant day on Wednesday with temperatures in the low 80s. Clouds will begin to clear out by the evening and temperatures will fall into the mid 50s overnight. Winds will be out of the south southeast around 5-10mph.

Looking at the map above, there’s been a shift towards a more dynamic atmosphere which means that we’re going to get a few more fronts coming out way in the next couple of weeks. The trough itself will weaken as it moves further towards the Rockies, then strengthen in the Canadian Plains during the weekend as a low pressure system moves in towards the eastern US.

The end of the week will slowly creep to the mid 80s, however the tell-tale sign of the incoming front is in the dewpoints and low temperatures. Low temperatures will reach the low and eventually the mid 60s by the weekend indicating the Gulf moisture flow and front have arrived. We may see a few showers Friday afternoon, however most of the rain won’t move in until Saturday morning.
