Hi everyone! This will be our first vacation-spot forecast, and I have the pleasure of creating and delivering it to all of you. Are you planning a trip this weekend to the waterpark, or a date night in New Orleans, or a beach trip? This post should help you plan for that and hopefully make you better prepared for the weather while you are there! Let’s get started!

Regional Outlook

Regardless of where you travel in the region this weekend, you will experience hot, extremely muggy conditions. Dew point values will be sitting in the 70s, which is straight up gross and uncomfortable. I would say get in the pool or the ocean to cool off, but it’s looking a little risky this weekend due to the multiple chances of thunderstorms each day, due to a stationary front sticking around.
As of now, Friday looks like the roughest weather day for most of the locations below, with the highest chance for showers and thunderstorms. Saturday looks like the better day overall, but once we get some daytime heating, a few isolated afternoon storms could still pop up. Sunday looks similar to Saturday, but scattered thunderstorms may become a little more widespread.
Overall, it is not a total washout, but you’ll definitely want to have an indoor backup plan. If you’re spending time outside, keep an eye on the radar and be ready to head inside if storms develop nearby. Stay safe!
