Heat and More Heat: Regional Forecast – 7/25/2026

Spoiler alert, It’s gonna be hot. But some lucky locations might get a cool down. Unfortunately Mother Nature’s way to cool down is a thunderstorm.

And there’s a few of them out there. Most of the storms will dissipate with the loss of daytime but a few could persist into the evening hours, especially over Georgia.

Storms will be possible again tomorrow and into Monday, mainly for locations further east. They likely won’t be anything crazy but enough to drop the temperature and throw out some lightning.

This is due to the position of the ridge. Areas to the east will be feeling the lift of a trough while to the west towards the lower Mississippi valley the ridging will be dominant and keep convection surpressed.

The main story will still be the heat. These temperatures will be hazardous to anyone exposed to them for a while but especially for the elderly and those with preexisting conditions. Heat indexes will peak above 105. Make sure to take frequent breaks in the AC and drink plenty of fluids if you must be outside.

Overall, a fairly typical summer heat wave and all the fun that comes along with it.
