NHC monitors area off the east coast for development while what develops here is drier conditions: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast

Things are looking even drier for this weekend. Sure, we can’t rule out a stray shower or storm on Saturday or Sunday, but I have to admit, with the way things are looking, we may luck out and stay dry all the way through Memorial Day.

The area of low pressure trying to develop off the east coast that I was talking about yesterday continues to become more of a ‘thing’ to watch for our local weather. Not because it will bring us rain, but because it will hold our drier, northerly flow.

The NHC doesn’t give it much of a shot to develop, but even it is loosely organized, it should be enough to keep out area drier.

That said, it will still be pretty warm. Highs in the mid 90s and just enough humidity to make it feel like the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. But given what we’ve seen in recent years on Memorial Day, I think this is a win.

As we move through the middle of next week this weather pattern breaks down a bit and we get back into something a bit more typical for this time of year – warmer with afternoon storms possible.

But in the meantime, enjoy the weather!
