Remember Those Heat Waves You See in Highway Scenes in Movies? Yeah, You’ll See Plenty of Them

Good afternoon, ya’ll! I’m your weather intern Noah here to discuss what’s going on throughout the next few days. What we saw this weekend was a trough that brought in more dry air to add to the already blistering heat we experienced Saturday and Sunday. Today and tomorrow, we’re getting the last bit of the trough before it retreats up to the North and leaves us with hot, dry air and little wind to blow it away.

This afternoon, we’ll see those hot temperatures linger until the sun goes down and the ground will still be pretty warm, so don’t expect too much relief. By tomorrow morning, we’ll reach our low of 73.

At 7, there are clear skies with temperatures in the mid-70’s. At 10, we’ll see a few clouds in the air, though not much for shade with the heat beginning to come down around 82. At the lunch hour around 1, some more clouds will roll in mainly in the lower levels with temperatures reaching around 87. By 4, the high of 91 will be reached with some low level clouds and a small chance of an afternoon shower. When the evening rolls around at 7, there will be some leftover clouds with the heat cooling down around 86, but of course it will still be hot. Winds coming out of the North and Northwest at 5-10 mph.

On Wednesday, the dry trend continues with partly cloudy skies during the day and a high of 92 and a low of 72 with winds coming out of the North at 5-10 mph.

Thursday is bringing in the heat and is a premonition to the rest of the week. High of 95, low of 73, hardly any wind and a pretty low chance of showers.

Y’all have a good week, stay hydrated and be safe!

Monday, July 30th, development of widespread storms across the south is highly probable. The low is 74°, and the high is 91°, with overcast conditions. Winds will be out of the southwest at 5-10 mph. As of now, the chance pf rain is only 40%, due to the fact that things can change over a week. However, be looking for these rain chances to possibly increase as we head throughout the week.
