12/20/22 1045p Update: A county-by-county breakdown of the cold air invasion

The threat for wintry precip is waning. I think we will see soem flurries, but meaningful snowfall is highly unlikely given the available data. The one thing that is very likely is that it will turn very cold. And that this shot of cold air will come in swiftly.

We will drop from about 55F to 25F – that is about 30 degrees – between about 9p and 3a.

But won’t crack the Top 10 biggest temperatures drops during the last 25 years.

Looking back even further up at Jackson’s weather site, and we are really not even close.

That doesn’t mean it won’t be a shock to the system. Dropping from temperatures around 55F to temperatures around 25F is going to offer a chance to flash freeze any lingering moisture. On any surface. And that may leave some roads with some black ice.
