4/10/24 930a Radar Brief

Radar trends continue to show a line of storms pressing across parts of the area. But there is one area in particular that needs to pay close attention to weather conditions and the radar during the next two hours.

Inside the black box on the map needs to pay close attention.

This line of storms has a history of producing damage including downed trees, downed power lines, power outages, and structural damage. Radar indicated wind has exceeded 75mph at times.

That is a strong enough wind to blow down trees, damage overhangs on roofs, blow down chicken houses or barns, and even move/tip unsecured manufactured homes.

If you live inside the black box, be prepared for this line of storms by securing any objects outdoors (or moving them inside) and stay inside and away from exterior walls as the storms pass.

That includes the following cities:
Monticello
Bassfield
Collins
Laurel
Ellisville
Waynesboro
Tylertown
Columbia
Oloh
Oak Grove
Hattiesburg
Petal
Richton
New Augusta
Bogalusa
Purvis
Lumberton
Wiggins
