Current Setup

Hello again! Back here with your forecast on this lovely Thursday! It’s been a beautiful day today in the Pine Belt and more nice weather is on the way for Friday and the weekend ahead. The cold front that I have been mentioning will be moving through Friday evening, and there could be a few spotty showers as the front pushes through, but no widespread rain is expected. More on that down below…
Tonight’s Forecast

Tonight, we will see a low in the mid 60s with mostly clear skies. Some fog is likely down in southern Louisiana and the southern-most counties of Mississippi once again tomorrow morning, so be cautious when traveling for the morning commute.
Tomorrow’s Forecast: Friday, March 27

Asides from some morning fog, skies will be mostly clear tomorrow with just a few clouds. A high temperature of 80-83 degrees is expected once again with the most humidity we have seen all week, so it will feel quite sticky out there. As I mentioned earlier, a few showers are possible as the front comes in during the late evening into the overnight hours tomorrow. There will also be some gusty winds accompanied with the arrival of the front, so ensure you are prepared for some gusty winds for Saturday!
Saturday’s Forecast: March 28

We’re officially behind the front by Saturday, leaving us with clear skies, very low humidity, and gusty winds. Because of these conditions, there is an elevated risk of fire spread, so ensure you heed local burn bans, secure tow chains, and don’t throw cigarettes on grassy areas/vegetation, as fires could spread very easily. We are under a Fire Weather Watch in much of the region due to this risk.
Temperatures on Saturday will be closer to average, in the upper 70s, and with that low humidity, it will feel quite nice! Expect winds sustained 10-15 mph, but gusts up to 25-30 mph.

Extended Local Outlook

The low humidity is unfortunately temporary, as the southerly flow makes its return on Sunday, thankfully not in full force with extremely high dew points, but enough to notice some humidity. By next week, we’re in full force, with a moist, southerly flow that will feel yucky, and we’ll see dew points in the 60s for much of next week. April will start of warm, humid, and possibly a little wetter than normal, according to the CPC.
