Cristina is all by herself as the only active tropical storm. Cristina is slowly drifting north, bringing heavy rain to parts of coastal Central America through Thursday. Remnants and leftover moisture may eventually emerge over the Gulf, but don’t worry, as redevelopment is not currently anticipated!

Tropical cyclone activity is not expected this week in the Atlantic. Several tropical waves are moving across the Caribbean and Atlantic, but further strengthening of these waves into a tropical system is being suppressed by dry air, high wind shear, and cool coastal waters.

Below is the forecast for tropical hazards through the rest of June. The Gulf stays on the warm and drier side, with below-average rainfall and above-average temperatures, while most tropical cyclone activity is focused near the Pacific coast of Mexico and Central America.
