Weekend Vacation Spot/Trip Forecast – 7/30/26

Regional Outlook

Happy Thursday! Weekend plans ahead? Here’s a look at what you can expect across some popular vacation spots around the region.

A large trough will settle into the central and eastern U.S. this weekend, bringing plenty of moisture and several chances for showers and thunderstorms across the Southeast. Friday should still have some dry time, but rain chances will increase through Saturday and especially Sunday. It won’t rain all day everywhere, but make sure you have a backup plan if you’re heading outside!

Friday and Saturday do not look like complete washouts, but a few scattered afternoon thunderstorms could develop ahead of an approaching front and briefly interrupt outdoor plans. As the front moves closer, rain and storm coverage should become more widespread Sunday, making it the more difficult day for outdoor activities. Farther east into Alabama and the Florida Panhandle, coverage will be higher throughout the weekend, so make sure you have a backup plan if you are heading to the beach or spending time outside.
