Weekend Vacation Spot/Trip Forecast – 8/6/26

Happy Thursday! Weekend plans ahead? Here’s a look at what you can expect across some popular vacation spots around the region.

Regional Outlook

Ridging will remain in control through the weekend, keeping temperatures hot with plenty of sunshine. It won’t be completely dry, though, with a few scattered afternoon thunderstorms possible each day. Since we won’t be directly under the center of the ridge, daytime heating will help build instability and allow a few storms to pop up, which is pretty typical for this time of year.

Friday and Saturday will feature plenty of dry time, although a few scattered storms may develop during the afternoon, especially closer to the coast. Rain coverage looks a little higher by Sunday as moisture increases, but it still won’t be a washout. Any storm that develops could briefly bring heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds.

Overall, the mornings should offer the best window for outdoor plans, with most storms developing during the afternoon. Sunday appears to have the greatest coverage, but even then, rain should remain scattered rather than lasting all day. Along with the storm chances, heat indices may reach 100-105, so take breaks and stay hydrated. Also worth mentioning, there is no tropical activity expected within the next 7 days! Enjoy the weekend!
