Damp and stormy the next few days, Easter may also be a bit soggy: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast

Today will be the Tale of Two Counties, as if you live east of I-59 you will likely by dry all day and if you live west of I-59 you have a 30-40 percent chance for rain. So places like Lucedale, MS should be mostly dry. The chance for rain is less than 10-percent. But in Brookhaven, MS the chance for rain is close to 40-percent.

If you feel left out without any rain, don’t worry, in the next few days, the rain will return.

The threat for severe weather should remain generally low in the coming days as this will be a good April soaker more than an April tornado producer. So, sure, it’ll be damp, but at least it won’t be tornado’ing.

Once the rain starts, storms will be pretty hit and miss, so it will be tough to pin down who sees what and when. Just know to keep the umbrella handy. And if you are making outdoor plans, make sure you’ve got a backup plan to take an activity inside.

Rainfall totals by the time we get through Saturday will be between 2″ to 4″ of rain with some spots seeing as much as 6″ of rain. By Sunday the heaviest of the rain will come to an end, but I don’t know how well Easter Egg Hunts will go with the damp ground and lingering drizzle in the area. So if you are making Easter plans, you may want to plan on an indoor activity there, too.
