Drier today, through the weekend, then more rain next week: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 2/3/23

A little breezy today and tonight behind all of the rain. The wind will be a bit more gusty than I originally anticipated. But it will be drier. And cooler. Highs in just the 50s.

We will start to warm up next week ahead of the next system set to move through the area on Wednesday. This will bring a chance for more rain – I know, MORE rain – and storms. Severe weather looks possible, but given the data, I don’t know that I’d be worried about anything quite yet.

The next system doesn’t look like it’ll have a big cold front with it. Instead the next “big” cold front may be another day or two later as we head toward the weekend. That one may offer a brief cool down, but an extended stretch of Winter temperatures look like they may be on hold for a few weeks.
