Heatwave (not the song by Groove Line) and we’re going to see plenty

Welcome back guys and gals, weather nuts, and bored internet surfers! Emily and Noah are back in business to create yet another incredible dynamic duo forecast. Like last time, I will be presenting the short term forecast for what to expect tomorrow throughout the day and Noah will usher us into the long week ahead. Let’s take a look!

Tonight: Expect temperatures in the mid 80’s with a high of 84° going this evening. We’ll have light winds to give a little breeze and some broken cloud coverage to fill the sky. If you’re planning on taking the dog for a walk or you feel like relaxing on the front porch, take some water or sip some sweet iced tea as it’ll likely be humid and still warmer and while you’re out you may get to catch a few showers through the area.

Thursday June 21st:

          Time 7 a.m. 10 a.m. 1 p.m. 4 p.m. 7 p.m.
Cloud Coverage Overcast Overcast Overcast Overcast Broken Clouds
         Temp. 76° 80° 81° 82° 79°
         Wind SW @ 5-10 mph SE @ 5-10 mph SE @ 5-10 mph SE @ 5-10 mph SE @ 5-10 mph

Through the day, we can expect mild rain showers across the area, we begin to see some thunderstorms in the afternoon. I’m holding on to a 50% chance for rain in the area. High will be 90° with a low of 71°. We’ll look to be very moist in the atmosphere all day so even if it’s not raining directly on you, you’ll most likely see light humidity in the air. Be on the safe side and bring an umbrella if you plan to be out and about and be safe driving if you find yourself caught in a thunderstorm.

I’ll pass it on to Noah to get us through the remainder of the week! Thanks ya’ll!

So, the dog days of summer are here? I think it’s just a warning!

Thursday brings in our best chance of rain especially in areas north of Hattiesburg, so keep the umbrella with you somewhere just in case! We have a high of 88 and a low of 74.

Friday sees a lesser chance with some sparse areas receiving rain around the Pinebelt with a high of 90 and a low of 72.

During the weekend, we’re going to see the end of a front come through bringing in dry air, but with that it also brings in much warmer temperatures. We’re a little less sticky, but still just as miserable unfortunately.

Saturday doesn’t seem so bad. There are a few areas that could receive some rain during the afternoon with a high of 92 and a low of 74.

Sunday sees our lowest chance of storms since there is a bigger warm-up after the front leaves with a few clouds and high of 94 and a low of 75.

The weekdays start off hot, but the heat tapers off by the mid-week.

Monday is going to keep the heat going with a few clouds throughout the day and a high of 95 and a low of 75.

Tuesday’s our hottest with some clouds around, but a scorcher of 96 and a low of 74.

Wednesday cools us off slightly but it will still be like our normal summer days in the South, a few clouds and a high of 93 and a low of 72.

Y’all stay safe, drink plenty of water and keep electrolytes in your body! Have a good week!
