Ohhhhh ooh oh ohhh, the Wind’s Going Southbound

Time to start off the forecast with a Thin Lizzy song no one’s ever heard of! (I hate being a classic rock nerd sometimes)

So after a pleasant week of beautiful cool mornings and not-as-hot afternoons, we’re going back to the old Summer doldrums again. That’s not to say it’ll be completely permanent, but hot and humid is the climate we have here and a blast of arctic air isn’t gonna save us at any point.

This weekend looks hot with a slight chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday with highs in the low 90’s and cumulus clouds popping up as the day goes on. By the week’s beginning, we’ll have more of a zonal flow but a very weak shortwave trough is going to slowly move through the southeast bringing in a slightly higher chance for rain. The chance should decrease by the end of the week as we go back to the zonal flow.

Friday starts off nice in the morning with a low of 63, but then warms up to a typical summer day with a high of 90 and some cumulus clouds in the sky. Winds southeast at 5 mph.

Saturday begins the warm up with a few low level clouds during the day with a high of 91 and a low of 68. Winds south at 5 mph.

Sunday is slightly hotter with an afternoon thunderstorm possible with a low of 71 and a high of 92. Winds south at 5 mph.

Monday is when the shortwave begins to move in and there could be more clouds moving in especially overnight. High of 91, low of 72 and winds from the south at 5-10 mph.

Tuesday we’ll see some scattered rain chances throughout the day with a high of 89 and a low of 71. Winds southwest at 5-10 mph.

Wednesday will be partly cloudy with a slight rain chance with a high of 90 and a low of 69. Winds west southwest at 5-10 mph.

Thursday we’ll start to go back to our regular summer pattern with a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm and a high of 92 and a low of 70. Winds southwest at 5-10 mph.

Have a great weekend!
