Rain clearing out, drier weather moving in: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 2/12/24

Showers and storms should be coming ot an end nearly everywhere this morning. By noon we should be dry, albeit still cloudy. The cooler air will start to filter in this afternoon, too, with temperatures falling back into the 50s by late afternoon and then into the 40s tonight.

Overall, rainfall totals topped out around 1″ to 2″ during the last 24 hours. A few spots show up to 3″ or 4″ of rain in the rain gauge. But I would bet those 3″ to 4″ totals a more widespread than shown on this estimation map from the NWS.

The rest of the week looks nice. While it is unfortunate that we are in a pattern with wet weekends, we are getting some nice weather during the week.

This system for this next weekend doesn’t look to be quite as potent – nor as rainy – in the model guidance this morning. So we may be able to get through the weekend with only minor interference from Mother Nature.
