Seasonal weather hangs around with high pressure building: SE MS / SW AL Weather Forecast – 7/28/22

Per usual for this time of year, temperatures look to remain average for this time of year along with daily chances for showers and thunderstorms. Dew point temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s will help keep the feeling of tropical air alive and well when paired with temperatures in the low to mid 90s for the next 7 days. Depending on how much sunlight certain areas receive throughout the coming days will dictate how high the heat index will be able to climb and, therefore, the probability for heat related illnesses. As always, take precautions to protect yourself from the summertime heat.

Areas that may or may not see showers or thunderstorms on a given day will largely be determined on preexisting outflow boundaries from the previous day’s storms, as well as any interactions with lake/sea breeze boundaries over the coming days. Any storms that do form will continue to be very efficient rain producers and may support a localized flooding risk.

By mid-next week, high pressure that has for the most part sat over this region of the United States does look to strengthen somewhat. What this will mean for us will be a slight increase in daily temperatures, as well as a decrease in the chance of rain.
