Showers and storms today, cooler weekend: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 3/11/22

Rain will build into the area as we move through the day and into the afternoon and evening. This should mostly be regular rain and thunder today, with a few stout storms here and there. There is a risk for severe weather, but I’m not overly impressed with the setup to produce widespread severe weather nor does it look like tornado are likely.

The rain should be widespread enough to limit the threat for severe weather because as the cold front arrives the atmosphere will be so contaminated with rain that individual storms won’t be as likely to develop.

Then things turn colder for the weekend! Protect those plants tonight as temperatures will drop into the mid 30s tonight. And then into the 20s for some folks overnight Saturday and into Sunday morning.
