South Mississippi Forecast for 5/27/21: Memorial Day weekend starts wet, ends dry

The little front we’ve been talking about the last few days that was ‘progged’ to show up on Saturday around midday, may be showing up about 12 hours earlier. That means a slightly better shot for rain on Friday and a slightly drier Saturday.

The little front won’t offer much in the way of severe weather, which it good. But it will flip the wind back to the north for a short time and allow a different area of high pressure to build into the region.

This new ridge of high pressure is going to be a bit more ‘tropical’ feeling with higher humidity. And it won’t be quite as stout, either, which means afternoon storms and the sea breeze will start to really take over local weather.

So, buckle up, because summertime is here!

So maybe don’t put those rain boots too far back in the closet…

  1. Yeah, Tidbits is clearly showing the front coming through Friday afternoon-evening instead of on Saturday. Hoping this will help clear any chance on the precip for the weekend and Monday.

  2. BTW, Thanks, again, for the daily updates!! As we head into what looks to be an active hurricane season, they’ll be MOST valuable.

    1. Charles, you are very welcome. As a heads up, I’ve received your email! My server is having some difficulty (related to the problem a few weeks back with security certificates) though and I can receive emails, I just can’t sent them. So odd. But I will try to get back to you ASAP!
