Storms return Wednesday, some severe: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 10/25/21

It stil looks like the chance for some strong to severe storms are possible on Wednesday. The timeline for the event is coming into better focus this morning, but there are still a few things we can’t quite nail down yet.

The SPC is now a bit more concerned for storms to the west and less concerned to the east.

And it looks like their thinking is lining up with the Karrie Meter from yesterday pretty well with a Marginal to Slight Risk for severe weather across the MSALLA. It also looks like this will be more of a late evening and into the overnight hours type of event. Typical for this time of year. Thankfully, so far, the timeline isn’t totally overnight, but it does look to last past midnight.

The main concern for the region will be for heavy rain, lightning and gusty wind. Tornadoes can’t be ruled out, but this is looking less like a “strong” tornado event and more like a gusty wind event.

I don’t have any estimated radar graphics on here because I don’t believe any of the model guidance on specific timing right now. Once the models get a bit better with their data, then I may post some shots, but for now, just know a Marginal-to-Slight Risk for storms is the forecast with a timeline between 8p and 2a.

Outside of the chance for storms, it looks like things will cool down behind the line of storms. Highs will fall back into the low 70s – perhaps even the upper 60s!
