Storms tomorrow, drier through the weekend: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 1/11/2023

Looking at the next chance for rain as we head through the overnight hours tonight and through the day on Thursday, things aren’t looking quite as robust – not that they ever looked terrible robust to begin with.

The SPC is holding the Marginal Risk for severe weather across the area, but has dropped the tornado risk to less than 2-percent. That puts the risk at about “normal” for this time of year with a system passing through

The timeline for storms and the main concerns are mostly unchanged: The timeline looks to be between 7a and 1p on Thursday. And the main threats look to be brief heavy rain, lightning, brief wind gusts up to 60mph and the chance for a brief, weak tornado or two.
