Drier conditions hold through Friday, storms back for the weekend: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 12/5/23

The cooler drier weather continues. We should remain dry through the next three days. By Thursday morning we may see some temperatures down into the 30s, too. And with the recent rains, the wildfire concerns have diminished quite a bit for the area with a green light for outdoor burning.

Beyond Thursday, we return to a southerly flow off the Gulf of Mexico. That will usher in warm and humid air and flip temperatures from the 30s on Thursday morning to near 70 by Friday afternoon.

That is ahead of the next shot for rain. And the next shot for rain may feature some storms and the potential for a few severe storms.

The Storm Prediction Center currently shows a Slight Risk across some of the western counties of Mississippi and back into Louisiana and Texas.

So far, it looks like most of the storms should be losing steam by the time they make it to our neck of the woods, but the forecast will need to be monitored int eh coming days — just in case that changes.
