A heat advisory is in place today for western Mississippi, though the intense heat will be felt across much of the area shown below! High temperatures will climb into the lower 90s this weekend, with humidity making it feel closer to 105 degrees in places like Monticello, Prentiss, and Franklinton. As the first heat spell of the summer, the heat may hit a little harder than usual, so take it easy outdoors and stay cool if you can!
Partly cloudy and dry for most. A stray shower or thunderstorm can’t be ruled out this afternoon, mainly near the coast and around the Meridian area.
The heat will continue through Sunday before a cold front pushes through the area, bringing rain and sweet relief!
