As this is being written, Southern LA is experiencing rain stretching from Vermilion to Lafourche County, which is pushing Northeast slowly. The scattered showers and possible thunderstorms will start to clear around the early morning hours. Southern MS has pop-up showers right now, but will remain relatively dry today. Along with Southern AL.

There can be isolated showers and thunderstorms popping up throughout the day. Heavy rain and flash flooding are possible throughout our region. The winds are coming from the southeast, and we are still nearly a lingering boundary.

Tonight
Temperatures around our area will be in the lower 80s, but humidity will make us feel hot and muggy. Chances for rain and thunderstorms stay relatively the same into the nighttime hours.


Southern LA will be experiencing rain and possible thunderstorms into the nighttime hours. By the early morning, it will clear up until the afternoon.

Memorial Day
Temperatures will stay in the lower 80s, the same as yesterday. Hot and muggy! The chances of rain and possible thunderstorms will increase in our area as the day progresses.

Once Southern LA starts to clear, Southern MS will experience their share of rain and thunderstorms around 1 am until around 8 am. Around 3 am, it’s Southern AL’s turn until about 10 am. Throughout the rest of the day, expect pop-up showers and thunderstorms.

The SPC has our region under thunderstorms for the next few days. Make sure to pay attention to any active alerts in your area. The main concern would be flooding, flash flooding, and possible severe thunderstorms from Sunday through the next few days.


By early Tuesday morning, around 1 am, total rainfall in our area will be mostly above 1 inch. Some areas, like Southwest LA, could see above 3 inches, and Southern LA and AL could see above 1.75 inches.
