A Seasonal Week Followed By A Few Rain Chances Near the Weekend – Pine Belt Forecast 2/4/24

After some heavy rain last night, it looks like we’ll get a dry day followed by one more chance of rain overnight. The whirling cyclonic low we dealt with yesterday will bring some of the leftover rain moving south into the Pinebelt during the late evening hours and dissipate by the early morning. Afterwards, we’ll have a few pleasant days ahead of us with seasonal temperatures and partly to mostly cloudy skies.

By Thursday, a surface warm front will enter the southeast helping to raise temperatures into the 70s with south winds moving in from the Gulf. A mid-latitude cyclone is moving through the Great Lakes which will bring in our first chance of rain on Friday. There will be an extended line of rain and possible thunderstorms with another front developing out of the southwest. By Sunday, a rapidly developing shortwave trough will move east from Texas into the southeast and bring one more chance of rain. This may have some possible severe weather parameters but is still pretty far out to see how much of an impact it will have.
