Another rainy day, though not quite as rainy as recently: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 8/4/22

Another day, another round of rain. Thankfully today won’t be as robust as yesterday. Storms, sure, but the WPC won’t likely have to draft up another discussion talking about 6″ to 9″ of rain possible.

Worth noting, that while no one in Mississippi or Alabama nailed the 6″ of rain mark yesterday, our friends in Louisiana did. A handful of spots near Baton Rouge and then near Hammond tallied between 3″ and 7″ or rain.

Today, again, we don’t expect that. Another 1″ to 2″ of rain will be possible – at worst – with most storms dropping 0.25″ to 0.75″ of rain as they pass through.

The HRRR model shows some donut holes where no rain may fall today. I would take those specific locations with a grain of salt, but do know that some spots will likely stay completely dry today, while others get dumped on – but who sees what is tough to say at this point.

  1. Hope to see, at least for us, a repeat of yesterday. It turned out to be a beautiful, party cloudy day and I finally got some of my mowing done.
