Chilly tonight, storms return Thursday night: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 3/14/23

Some spots got down into the mid 30s this morning for an hour or two so a few folks may have noticed some light frost. It will be another chilly night tonight but with enough of a breeze to keep the frost from forming again. It will also be a few degrees warmer.

The next chance for showers and storms will arrive on Thursday night and into Friday morning. Currently there is some question about how potent the rain and storms will be.Model guidance suggests some stronger storms with heavy rain, lightning, gusty wind and small hail. But the potential for wind gusts exceeding 50mph, hail bigger than 1″ or tornadoes is looking a bit lower.

Bit it bears watching given the setup and time of year.

Once that rolls through the next system rolls through Monday and into Tuesday. This next one looks like more regular rain than storms and severe weather.
