Few storms today, with more rain coming for the weekend: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast 8/30/22

The forecast today looks a bit more tropical than yesterday. Perhaps not quite as warm with a slightly higher chance for storms.

Model guidance is showing highs around 90 with a 60-percent shot for afternoon storms. The best bet for storms will be between about 1p and 6p this afternoon and evening. I think once you finish dinner this evening, the storms should come to an end. We may have a few fire back up overnight, but those will be fewer and farther between.

By this weekend, a little trough will slide by to the north and open up the amtosphere for showers and storms to redevelop with more abundance.

And the pattern, overall, would really increase the amount of Gulf moisture in the air above us, meaning the storms would be very proficient rain producers. So we may have to keep an eye out for more potential flooding this weekend.

Looking down the road further, it does look like we eventually dry things out. Take a peek at the veryt extended forecast below…

    1. About 3p, Charles. Apologies for not putting that on the graphic description. Usually I do that, not sure where my head was at this morning.
