Frosty morning tomorrow, then warmer later this week: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 3/18/24

Now that the rain is gone, cooler air is settling back into the area. Today will actually be pretty nice with afternoon highs around 60F to 65F.

That isad, it looks like we may have one (or two) of the last frosty mornings tomorrow morning across the area. Most folks probably won’t get down below freezing, but low-lying areas and spots near and north of I-20 have the best chance.

The HRRR mdoel shows temperatures around 32F to 35F in the morning. The real questio will be if the wind can slow down enough to get frost to form.

There is an outside shot that we repeat this on Wednesday morning. We will be back down into the low 30s again and have the wind die down.

By Wednesday afternoon, though, we should be done with any threat for frosty mornings.

Then the attention turns to the next shot for rain. By Thursday and into Friday, the next system will slide through and offer a chance for some showers and storms. Right now, severe weather looks unlikely, but it is March, so it is worth monitoring.

And looking out toward Easter Sunday, it looks like partly to mostly cloudy skies with highs around 70 and a 10-percent chance for afternoon showers.
