Split weekend with a mostly dry Saturday and a Soggy Sunday, with more rain next week: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 1/27/23

Another ho-hum day in the weather department! Mostly sunny, the wind should be much calmer and the temperatures will be seasonably cool.

The next chance for rain arrives late Saturday night and through the day on Sunday.

This is most likely going to be a mild rain with some thunder. Severe weather is far less likely with a blob of convection developing in the Gulf and no real pre-frontal low-level flow from the south.

So, instead, we see about 0.5″ to 1.5″ of rain possible between Saturday night and through Monday morning. The peak time for rainfall will most likely be between 10a Sunday morning and about 6p Sunday night.

Then we start to dry things out for 24 to 36 hours before the next round of rain arrives.
