Still hot, still dry, still breaking records: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 9/18/22

In a word: dry. In town two words: Hot & dry.

That said, it won’t be quite as hot this week as it has been during the last three months – when we’ve tagged 90-degrees of higher 87 days in a row.

Originally, I thought today might be the end of that streak, but looking at the latest data, it supports temperatures at the official weather station that are juuuuuust warm enough to eclipse the 90-degree mark and keep the streak going.

Today’s high temperatures

Same goes tomrorow.

Tomorrow’s high temperatures

Our next chance to end the streak will be on Thursday and Friday. If not then, midweek next week.

And any chance for rain, as it appears right now, will be sparse at best. Because of that, we are (again) talking about the potential for wildfires.

  1. I just ‘thought’ we (south MS) had a pretty bad drought going on. I’ve looked at the Houston area and ya’ll REALLY have it bad. Any relief coming down the pipeline?
